Size Guide

Fit is the part of buying clothes online that worries people most, and with an embroidered piece of your own pet it matters even more: you want to wear it, not keep it in a drawer. This guide explains which sizes each Woven Paw product comes in, how to measure a garment you already own so you can compare like with like, and how to choose when you are between two sizes. We have deliberately not printed a table of numbers here. Rather than publish measurements we have not confirmed for every product, we answer measurement questions individually by email, for the exact product and size you are looking at.

1. Which sizes each product comes in

Size names on our product pages are the same as the options you choose before adding to cart. Here is the full list by product type.

2. Measuring a top you already own

The most reliable way to choose is to start from something you already wear happily. Pick a polo, sweatshirt, hoodie or tee whose fit you like, of a similar type to the one you are buying, and measure it rather than yourself. Body measurements tell you who you are; garment measurements tell you how something will actually fit.

1. Lay it flat. Put the garment on a table, buttoned or zipped, and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric.
2. Chest width. Measure straight across from one side seam to the other, about one inch below the armholes. This is half the chest circumference.
3. Body length. Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the bottom hem.
4. Sleeve length. For long sleeves, measure from the centre of the back of the collar along the shoulder and down the sleeve to the cuff. For short sleeves, from the shoulder seam to the sleeve end.
5. Write it down. Note the three numbers and the size label of the garment you measured.

Then email us the product you are considering and the size you are leaning towards, and we will reply with that size’s measurements so you can compare. If you prefer, send us your three numbers and we will suggest the size that comes closest.

3. Choosing between two sizes

Embroidered tops

Embroidery adds a small, slightly firmer area to the fabric. On a garment that is tight across the chest, that area can pull and the design may not sit perfectly flat. If you are between two sizes on a polo, crewneck, hoodie or tee with a chest design, the larger size is usually the safer choice. It also leaves room for layering in cooler months.

Relaxed or fitted look

If you like a closer fit and the garment you measured is snug already, stay with your usual size. If you like the slightly oversized look that suits sweatshirts and hoodies, go one size up. For example, someone choosing between M and L for the Peeking Pup Embroidered Crewneck, who usually wears M sweatshirts but likes them roomy, would pick L.

Gifts

Buying for someone else? Check a garment of theirs if you can do so discreetly, or ask a family member. If you have to guess, choose the size they usually wear in sweatshirts rather than in fitted shirts, and remember that exchanges for a different size are possible within 60 days of delivery.

4. Unisex tops: S to 3XL

Our unisex polos, crewnecks, hoodies, zip hoodie, half-zip and tees are cut to fit a wide range of bodies. Many people who usually buy women’s sizes find they wear one size down in unisex; many who buy men’s sizes wear their usual size. Ringer tees tend to be cut a little slimmer than our other tees, so if you like a loose fit, size up. Long sleeves vary most in arm length between brands, so for the Long Sleeve Dog Face Embroidered Polo and the Paw Sleeve Embroidered Long Sleeve Tee it is worth checking the sleeve measurement with us.

For our custom pet face pieces, size affects how large the garment is, not how large the stitched portrait appears relative to what you ordered: the design area is set for the product type. A two-pet design is stitched smaller per face on every size.

5. Women’s fitted polo and cropped hoodie

The Women’s Fitted Cat Face Embroidered Polo has shaped side seams and shorter sleeves, so it runs smaller than a unisex polo with the same size letter. If you usually wear a unisex M loosely, the fitted L is likely closer. It comes in XS to 2XL.

The Kitten Face Embroidered Cropped Hoodie is cut to end around the waist and comes in XS to XL. Its body length is shorter by design, so if you prefer more coverage, size up one. Ask us for the body length of your size if it matters to you.

6. Kids sizes: Youth XS to Youth XL

The Kids Puppy Face Embroidered Tee comes in youth sizes. Children of the same age vary a lot, so please measure a tee your child wears now, laid flat, using the chest and length method above, and send it to us if you want a recommendation. Children grow quickly; if they are between sizes, choosing the larger one gives the tee a longer life.

7. Loungewear and bottoms

The Dog Face Embroidered Pajama Set, Paw Embroidered Jogger Sweatpants and Paw Embroidered Lounge Shorts come in S to 2XL and have elastic drawcord waists, which makes the fit forgiving. For bottoms, measure a pair you own:

• Waist: lay the pants flat and measure straight across the top of the waistband, relaxed, not stretched.
• Hip: measure across the widest part, usually just below the pockets.
• Inside leg: from the crotch seam down the inner leg to the hem.

For the pajama set, top and pants come in the same size. If your top and bottom sizes differ, choose by the larger. The Cat Face Embroidered Sleep Shirt is cut loose on purpose and comes in paired sizes: S/M, L/XL and 2XL/3XL. Pick the pair that includes your usual tee size; it will fall long and roomy, around knee length on many people depending on height.

8. Hats and beanies

Our dad hats, trucker cap and snapback are one size with an adjustable back: a strap with a slide buckle on the dad hats, a snap closure on the trucker cap and snapback. The cuffed beanie is a stretch knit and also one size. To check whether a cap will fit, measure around your head just above the ears and across the middle of the forehead, where a cap sits. If your head is at either end of the usual adult range, email us that number and we will tell you whether the adjustable back is likely to fit.

The Dog Bone Embroidered Bucket Hat has a fixed size and comes in S/M and L/XL. Use the same head measurement; if you are near the boundary between the two, the larger size is more comfortable, and you can ask us for the head range of each.

9. Dog bandana: sized by your dog

The Dog Face Embroidered Dog Bandana comes in S, M and L by neck size. Measure around your dog’s neck where the collar usually sits, then add about two inches so there is enough length to tie the bandana comfortably without it being tight. Email us your dog’s neck measurement and we will tell you which size suits. A bandana is an accessory for walks, visits and photos: take it off before leaving your dog alone, and never attach a leash to it.

10. One-size accessories

The Paw Embroidered Tote Bag, Cat Face Embroidered Kitchen Apron and Paw Embroidered Knit Scarf are one size. The apron has an adjustable neck strap and long waist ties. If you need the dimensions of the tote, the apron or the length of the scarf before ordering, email us and we will measure the current stock for you.

11. Common sizing questions

Do custom pieces fit differently from finished designs?

No. A Custom Pet Face Embroidered Crewneck in L and a Peeking Pup Embroidered Crewneck in L are chosen the same way. Only the design differs. If you already own one of our pieces and like its fit, order the same size in the same product type.

I am ordering two pieces for a matching look with my partner.

Choose each size separately using each person’s own garment. Matching pieces do not need to be the same size, and the embroidery is placed the same way on every size of a product.

Can you make a size that is not listed?

We only offer the sizes shown on each product page. If you need something outside that range, email us and we will tell you plainly whether we can help, rather than promise something we cannot deliver.

12. Washing and fit

How you wash a garment affects how it fits over time. To keep the size you chose, wash embroidered pieces inside out in cool water, on a gentle cycle, and dry on low or lay flat. High heat can tighten some fabrics and pucker the area around the embroidery. Never iron directly on the stitches; iron on the reverse side if needed. 13. If the size is not right

You can exchange any item for a different size of the same product within 60 days of delivery. We send a free return label, and the new size ships free once your return is on its way. For custom pet face pieces, an exchange means stitching your pet again in the new size, using your photo if we still have it (customer photos are deleted 30 days after delivery) or a new one from you. You can also return the item for a refund, made within 7 days of receiving the return. 14. Ask us about a size
