Why the name is Woven Paw
The name is two ideas put side by side. “Woven” is thread: the needle going in and out, colour built up line by line until a shape appears on the fabric. “Paw” is the animal at the centre of it, the dog leaning on your leg or the cat walking across your keyboard. Our logo draws a paw print as one running-stitch line, the dashed line you see on a sewing pattern, with a loose coral thread trailing from the main pad. That small drawing says what we do: we turn the pets people love into stitches.
We chose embroidery rather than printing on purpose. A printed photo sits flat on top of a shirt. Embroidery is part of the garment: it has texture you can feel with your thumb, it catches the light differently from every angle, and it reads as a crafted detail rather than a picture. It also has limits, and we would rather explain those limits here than leave you to discover them when your parcel arrives.
What we make
Our range is built around everyday clothing that carries a small, stitched pet detail well. Everything sits in six collections:
- Polos: a custom polo with your pet’s face at the left chest, plus a paw trail polo, a women’s fitted cat face polo and a long-sleeve dog face polo.
- Sweatshirts & Hoodies: our custom crewneck and custom hoodie, and finished designs such as the Peeking Pup Embroidered Crewneck, the Cat Face Embroidered Pullover Hoodie, the Paw Print Embroidered Zip Hoodie, the Dog Silhouette Embroidered Half-Zip Sweatshirt and the Kitten Face Embroidered Cropped Hoodie.
- Tees: a custom tee, a pocket-peek dog tee, a cat line art tee, a long-sleeve tee with paws down the sleeve, a ringer tee and a kids tee.
- Hats & Beanies: a custom dad hat, a dog face dad hat, a cat face trucker cap, a paw patch snapback, a cuffed beanie and a dog bone bucket hat.
- Loungewear: a dog face pajama set, a cat face sleep shirt, paw joggers and paw lounge shorts.
- Accessories: a paw tote bag, a dog bandana for the dog itself, a cat face kitchen apron and a paw knit scarf.
Sizes run from adult S to 3XL on most unisex pieces, with a women’s fitted polo in XS to 2XL, a cropped hoodie in XS to XL and a kids tee in Youth XS to Youth XL. Caps, the beanie, the tote, the apron and the scarf are one size. Our Size Guide explains how to measure a garment you already own and compare it before you choose.
Custom pieces and finished designs
Custom: your own pet, from your photo
Five products are made from a photo of your own dog or cat: the Custom Pet Face Embroidered Polo, the Custom Pet Face Embroidered Crewneck Sweatshirt, the Custom Pet Face Embroidered Hoodie, the Custom Pet Face Embroidered T-Shirt and the Custom Pet Face Embroidered Dad Hat. On each of these product pages you choose a color, a size where there is one, and whether you want one pet or two pets on the piece (two pets adds $15 to the price shown). You can also type a pet name of up to 12 characters to be stitched under the face (on the dad hat it goes on the left side panel) and a short note of up to 140 characters about markings we should keep. A live preview shows the typed name on the product photo so you can check spacing and spelling.
The photo itself is not uploaded on the website. After checkout you email it to support@wovenpaw.shop with your order number in the subject line. A checkbox on the product page confirms that you will do this, so nobody is surprised by the step.
Finished designs: no photo needed
The other pieces in our range are finished designs: a paw trail, a peeking pup, a cat drawn in a single line, a sleepy dog on a pajama top, a dog bone with a tiny heart. You pick a color and size and the piece ships as shown on its product page. These are the easiest gifts when you do not have a photo of the recipient’s pet, or when you simply like the design.
What embroidery can and cannot show
This is the part we want every customer to read before ordering a custom piece. Thread is not ink. It works in lines and filled shapes, with a limited set of colors, at the size of a palm or smaller. So when we stitch your pet, we translate the photo into a simplified stitch rendering:
- What we keep: the overall shape of the face and ears, the main fur colors, the eyes and nose, and one or two signature markings, such as a white blaze, a dark patch over one eye or a pink spot on the nose.
- What we simplify or leave out: fine fur texture, single whiskers, subtle shading, collars and tags, and the background of the photo.
- How size changes things: a crewneck or hoodie chest gives the portrait the most room. A polo or tee chest is smaller, and a cap front is smaller still, so the rendering becomes simpler as the area shrinks.
- Two pets on one piece: each face is stitched smaller, so each carries a little less detail than a single portrait would.
The result looks stitched, not photographic, and recognisably like your pet when the photo is good. That is why we never describe our work as an exact copy of your photo, and why we ask you to tell us the markings that matter most to you.
How a custom order works, step by step
- Choose the piece and options. Pick the product, color, size, number of pets and, if you like, a pet name and a markings note.
- Check out. Available payment options are shown at checkout. You receive an order confirmation email with your order number.
- Email your photo. Send one or two photos to support@wovenpaw.shop with the order number in the subject. The best photos are sharp, taken in daylight, front-facing, with both eyes and both ears visible and nothing covering the face.
- We check the photo. If a photo is too dark, too blurry or the face is hidden, we reply and ask for another one before we start. We do not send a proof or mockup before production, so the photo you send is what we work from.
- Preparation and shipping. Orders are prepared in 1-3 business days and then ship free from the USA. Transit to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand usually takes 7-14 business days. See Shipping & Delivery for the full timeline.
Here is a typical example. Dana orders the Custom Pet Face Embroidered Crewneck in heather grey for her border collie, Milo. She types MILO in the name field, writes “white stripe down the nose, one ear tips over” in the markings note, and emails a daylight photo of Milo looking at the camera with the order number in the subject line. That is everything we need.
And one that needs a second step: Raj emails a photo of his black labrador taken indoors at night. The face is mostly shadow, so we write back and ask for a brighter photo, ideally outdoors. Once a usable photo arrives, the order continues.
Choosing a piece for someone else
Many of our orders are gifts, and gifts bring their own questions. If you have a good photo of the recipient’s pet, a custom piece is the most personal choice: order in the size the recipient usually wears and send the photo yourself, so the surprise stays intact. If you do not have a photo, or you are not sure which pet is the favourite in a two-dog household, a finished design is the safer option. The Peeking Pup Embroidered Crewneck, the Cat Line Art Embroidered Tee and the Dog Face Embroidered Dad Hat suit most dog or cat people without any guesswork.
If the gift is for a date, count backwards before ordering: 1-3 business days of preparation plus 7-14 business days in transit, and weekends do not count as business days. An order placed on 1 December for a 20 December birthday in Canada could take up to about three and a half weeks, so email us first and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic. Sizes can be exchanged within 60 days if you guessed wrong.
Things we will not stitch
We stitch pets, pet names and our own designs. We cannot stitch sports team logos, cartoon characters, brand names or other people’s artwork, even next to your pet, because those belong to someone else. If a request includes something like that, we will contact you and offer to stitch the pet alone or cancel the order with a full refund. You can read more in our Intellectual Property Policy.
Our promises to you
We keep our commitments short, specific and the same on every page of this site:
- Free shipping to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with no minimum order.
- Preparation in 1-3 business days, then 7-14 business days in transit.
- Changes and cancellations within 24 hours of placing your order: email us and we will correct a pet name typo, a size or an address, or cancel. See Cancel or Change an Order.
- 60-day returns from delivery, including change-of-mind returns, with a free return label. See Returns & Exchanges.
- Refunds within 7 days of your return reaching us, to your original payment method. See our Refund Policy. If you prefer store credit instead, it never expires.
- Replies within 24 hours on business days, from a real inbox.
- Your photos are used only for your order and deleted 30 days after delivery. See our Privacy Policy.
If something arrives damaged, faulty or noticeably different from what you ordered, email us with your order number and photos of the problem and we will put it right. If we ever cannot meet a date you need, we will say so plainly before you order rather than after.
Caring for embroidered pieces
Embroidery lasts well when it is treated kindly. Turn garments inside out, wash on a cool, gentle cycle, and dry on low or flat. Do not iron directly over the stitching; if a garment needs pressing, iron it on the reverse side. Caps are best spot cleaned with a damp cloth and left to dry on a rounded shape such as a bowl. Knit pieces like the beanie and scarf should be hand washed in cool water and dried flat. If a loose thread ever appears, trim it close with small scissors rather than pulling it.
Who we are and where to find us
Woven Paw is an online shop. We sell through this website only, and we answer every message by email. Our business details are:
- Business name: Woven Paw
- Address: 13 Fern Place, Mandeville, LA 70471, US
- Email: support@wovenpaw.shop
Email is our only support channel and we do not run social media accounts, so if you see a page elsewhere using our name, it is not us. Writing everything down also helps you: a pet name, a markings note or an address correction is in black and white, with a time stamp, which matters when the 24-hour change window is involved. Our terms of sale are governed by the laws of Louisiana; you can read them in our Terms of Service.
