This page explains how to tell us that material on wovenpaw.shop uses your copyrighted work without permission, what information we need, what we do once we receive your notice, and how someone whose material was removed can respond. It follows the notice-and-takedown process of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar laws in the other countries we sell to. Send notices to support@wovenpaw.shop.
\n
\n
Copyright notices at a glance
\n
\n
Send a complete written notice to support@wovenpaw.shop with “Copyright notice” in the subject.
\n
We acknowledge it within 24 hours on business days.
\n
If the notice is valid, we remove or disable the material and confirm by email.
\n
Material submitted by a customer can be restored after a valid counter-notice, as the law allows.
\n
Pet photos customers email us for custom orders are never published on the site and are deleted 30 days after delivery.
\n
\n
\n
1. What this process covers
\n
This process covers anything published on wovenpaw.shop: product images and digital previews, our finished embroidery designs, product descriptions, category texts, help and policy pages, and any customer content we may display in future, such as reviews. If you believe one of these copies your photograph, illustration, design, text or other creative work, this is the right route.
\n
It also covers a situation that is specific to a store like ours. Custom pieces are stitched from a photo a customer emails us after checkout. Those photos are not shown on our website, but we take seriously the possibility that a customer could send someone else’s image, for example a professional pet portrait taken by a photographer or a picture copied from social media. If you believe a piece we have made, or are making, reproduces your copyrighted photograph without permission, contact us using the steps below and describe the order or image as precisely as you can.
\n
What this process does not cover
\n
Trademark concerns (names, logos, characters and brands) are handled under our Intellectual Property Policy, which uses a similar but separate procedure. Questions about orders, shipping or returns go through the Help Center.
\n
2. How to send a copyright notice
\n
Email support@wovenpaw.shop with the subject line “Copyright notice”. Your notice must include all of the following, or we may not be able to act on it:
\n
\n
Your full name, postal address and email address, so we can reply and pass a counter-notice to you if one is received.
\n
A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. If several works are involved, a representative list is enough.
\n
The exact web address (URL) of each page on wovenpaw.shop where the material appears, and which image, design or passage you mean. For a product, the product name and Color helps, for example “the main image of the Cat Line Art Embroidered Tee in Black”.
\n
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
\n
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
\n
Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name at the end of the email is accepted as an electronic signature.
\n
\n
Please send each notice as text in the email body rather than only as an attachment, and keep any evidence you have, such as the original file with its date, a link to where you first published it, or a registration number if you have one. Evidence is not required for a valid notice, but it helps us act faster.
\n
3. What we do with your notice
\n
\n
Steps after a copyright notice reaches us
\n
\n
\n
Step
\n
What happens
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Acknowledgement
\n
We confirm receipt within 24 hours on business days and tell you if anything is missing.
\n
\n
\n
Review
\n
We compare the notice with the material on the page and check that every required element is present.
\n
\n
\n
Action
\n
If the notice is complete and valid, we remove or disable access to the material and email you to confirm.
\n
\n
\n
Uploader informed
\n
If the material came from a customer, we tell that person it was removed and share a copy of the notice, with your personal contact details withheld where the law allows.
\n
\n
\n
Product follow-up
\n
If a finished design or product image is affected, we stop using it and take the product offline until it is replaced.
\n
\n
\n
\n
If your notice concerns a custom order that has not been made yet, we pause production and contact the customer. We do not stitch an image that we have reason to believe the customer has no right to use, and we cancel and refund that order if the issue cannot be resolved.
\n
4. If your material was removed: counter-notice
\n
If content you provided was removed after a notice and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice to support@wovenpaw.shop with the subject “Counter-notice”. It must include:
\n
\n
Your full name, postal address and email address.
\n
A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
\n
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
\n
A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
\n
Your physical or electronic signature.
\n
\n
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action to stop the material being restored, we may restore it, as the law allows.
\n
5. Photos customers send for custom orders
\n
Every customer who orders a custom piece confirms, at checkout, that they will email us a photo of their pet, and our Terms of Service ask them to confirm they took the photo or have permission to use it. Those photos are used only to prepare the stitch rendering, are never published on our site or social media, and are deleted 30 days after delivery. Because of that deletion schedule, please contact us as soon as you become aware of a concern; after the photo has been deleted we may only be able to look at the order record and the finished product description.
\n
A stitched piece is a simplified interpretation of a photo (face shape, main colours and markings), but we do not treat that as a reason to ignore a rights holder’s concern. If a customer’s photo was not theirs to use, we handle it under this page.
\n
If you are a customer: the simplest way to stay clear of any copyright problem is to send a photo you took yourself, any clear snapshot is fine as long as it is sharp and in daylight. If your favourite picture of your dog was taken by a professional photographer, ask them for permission before you send it, or choose another photo. We are happy to tell you by email whether a photo you took is clear enough to stitch.
\n
6. Two examples of how this works
\n
A photographer’s portrait used for a custom order
\n
A pet photographer sees a social media post by one of our customers showing a Custom Pet Face Embroidered Hoodie and recognises the pose and lighting of a portrait session she sold to a different family. She emails “Copyright notice” with the link to her original image, the date of the session and a description of the hoodie. We check our order records, find the order the post refers to and contact that customer. Because the photo was deleted 30 days after delivery, we rely on the order record and the customer’s reply. If the customer cannot show permission, we record the issue against their account and decline future custom orders using that image. The more detail the rights holder gives, the faster this goes.
\n
A design that looks like someone else’s illustration
\n
An illustrator believes our Cat Line Art Embroidered Tee copies a single-line cat drawing she published. She sends a notice with the URL of the product page, a link to her original drawing and the required statements. We take the product image and listing offline while we compare the two. If the notice is valid, the product stays offline and we confirm by email. If we believe the design is our own independent work, we explain why and the illustrator can take the matter further; we do not ignore the notice.
\n
7. Timing and what you can expect from us
\n
We aim to acknowledge every notice within 24 hours on business days and to act on a complete notice as quickly as we can check it. Notices that are missing required information are not ignored: we reply and tell you exactly what is missing so you can complete them. We keep a record of every notice and counter-notice we receive, including the date, the material concerned and what we did, so that we can answer questions about a case later.
\n
8. Notices from outside the United States
\n
We sell to customers in Canada, Australia and New Zealand as well as the United States. If you are a rights holder in one of those countries, you can use the same email process. Include the same information listed above; you do not need to refer to U.S. law. We will consider your notice under the copyright rules that apply and respond in the same way.
\n
9. False or misleading notices
\n
Under U.S. law, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Before you send a notice, consider whether the use could be permitted, for example by a licence or by fair use. If you are not sure whether something infringes your rights, you may want to get legal advice first. We do not give legal advice.
\n
10. Repeat infringement
\n
Where appropriate, we close the accounts of customers who repeatedly submit material that infringes other people’s copyright, and we may decline further custom orders from them.
\n
11. Protecting our own designs
\n
Woven Paw’s finished designs, such as the running-stitch paw outline and our cat and dog face designs, product descriptions and page text are our own work. If you see them copied on another site or marketplace, we would be grateful if you let us know at the address below. How others may and may not use our material is explained in our Intellectual Property Policy.
\n
12. Contact for copyright matters
\n
Woven Paw, 13 Fern Place, Mandeville, LA 70471, US. Email: support@wovenpaw.shop (subject “Copyright notice” or “Counter-notice”). We reply within 24 hours on business days.
